Moti & Amanda Lou
Our Wedlings–
A Year of Sacred Intention
When we decided to get married, we wanted to find a way to honor our chosen path that reflects the kind of life we are building together. We both also had completely opposite ideas of how best to celebrate a marriage. Namely: Amanda has always wanted to get married by eloping to Town Hall, with a taxi driver & a secretary for witnesses. (Her mother is still shocked that this didn't happen.) Moti has always wanted a REALLY BIG PARTY. How do you split the difference on that one?
We turned to some of the core values that govern our partnership—intimacy, connection, spontaneity, and adventure. From there we realized that instead of having 200+ people come to us for one big crazy weekend, we'd rather do the traveling ourselves.
We are getting married because we love the life we are creating together. We love visiting our friends, having long rambling conversations, dancing with all of our favorite partners, and eating lots of delicious food. For us, setting aside a whole year in which to do all these things is a way of celebrating the sacred in the mundane. It's how we want to honor all that is good and joyful in the life that we are blessed to already have.
So, instead of a "wedding", we are having a year full of "wedlings". Which means, dearest loves, that we are splitting you up into manageable groups, because we love you, and we miss you, and we really want to spend the next year getting to see—really see—all of you.
We hope you can join us!
